Meet Madame Elise, Vision Ambassador for Essilor

Discover the newest video of YouTooday featuring a successful and very tenacious 2.5 Vision Ambassador in the Ivory Coast. Madame Elise, warmly called “Granny” Elise by her neighbours, changes lives wherever she goes.

By 2.5 New Vision Generation, Essilor aims to positively impact the life of people suffering from vision impairment, which are – to put it bluntly – 2.5 billion people on this planet. As the majority lives in developing countries, the initiative focuses on people living in precarious conditions such as a big part of the population of Gonzagueville, Abidjan. Every step on every day Madame Elise walks through her neighborhood providing ophtalmic consultation and affordable glasses to those in need, is another day on which the improvement of sight changes a life for the better.

YouTooday has spent some time with Madame Elise, her patients, neighbors and trainers at Essilor to highlight the change-making positiv impact behind this initative and to reveal an often forgotten reality: improving sight to (re-) gain good vision abilities improves lifes in many ways. See for yourself in our video.
